Beginning in the late 1990s, cell phones are just part of everyday life, including the classrooms. Banned because of the distraction they created, school are not rethinking this ban because of the September 11, 2001 tragedy.
This policy has been a struggle with many school districts and many of dropped the ban because of patent and student input. The cell phones allowed in school, students can reach their parents, or arrange extracurricular activities and rides home and even contact policy if need be.
