Lawmaker’s Idea to Ban Devices

Carl Kruger, a New York state senator, want to introduce a bill to ban people from using any wireless devices as they are crossing streets. This is for the city of Buffalo New York. Within Kruger’s district, three people who were distracted by their wireless device were killed as they unknowingly stepped into traffic.
Kruger went on to say that people are tuning out the surrounding world and they tune in to their cell phones or iPods. If this law passes, someone caught do this could be fined $100 which is the same cost as a ticket for jaywalking.
But,like always happens, there are those who feel this is unfair because it is the choice of the person to do what he wants and this law would interfere with that choice. The senator says he is just trying to make the street safe for everyone and that some wireless devices are just not meant to be used anywhere and everywhere. He feel all these distracted people are endangering not only themselves but those around them.
